From a series of lectures by Ambalal Balkrishna Purani of Sri Aurobindo Ashram. Recorded in 1962 at the Crescent Moon Ranch, Sedona, Arizona, USA.

Introduction: Preliminaries

SS Chakravarti - Traditional Indian Virtue Ethics for Today: An East-West …, 2024
… the specific area of the presence of the ethical perspective in Sri Aurobindo. ‘Sri Aurobindo’s not authoring any … text dealing exclusively with morality or ethics’, she assures us, ‘is not to be read as a reflection of Sri Aurobindo’s backing for an … Sri Aurobindo critiqued the failure of reason to tackle ethical problems, though. Enigmatically, he held the view that an ethical being is a law to itself. Furthermore, the depth of this essentially metaphysical condition challenges either a deontologist or a consequentialist ethical viewpoint. Yet, Aurobindo was also committed to finding an answer to the question: From where do moral impulses, instincts, and activities originate? Not to suggest that Sri Aurobindo was framing a set of practical rules for one to follow, this chapter demonstrates that Aurobindo is committed to the notion of nature, or svabhāva and personal duty, or svadharma as preached in the Gita. In Sri Aurobindo’s model, like Dharma ethical models, virtue ethics prepares one for a purer sattvic element. The domain of ethics is nothing but the rational level that is a stage in evolution. The ethical aim of Yoga is not an external idea of virtue but rather a heightening of the divine by way of a three-tier existential level: suprarational, rational, and infrarational.

Sorry, to say but this is not language a PM of India should be speaking

There is a dignity of this position and that 'maryada " should not be broken

Using words as 'Mujra ' is so cheap. Is the language PM shud be speaking?

No wonder his followers also use equally abusive, filthy and pedestrian language for Hindu women.

Modi’s campaigns in Bengal add no value other than feeding into his own ego. What he says isn’t even part of the political discourse. In other words no one knows the content of his campaign except the attendees. Where he could have been immensely useful is exactly where he is doing nothing - ensuring free and fair polls through his appointees.

Typical showman.
