Rig Veda 1.6.3
के॒तुं कृ॒ण्वन्न॑के॒तवे॒ पेशो॑ मर्या अपे॒शसे॑ । समु॒षद्भि॑रजायथाः ॥
(“O Strong One, you manifest knowledge for one who has it not, (manifest) form, for one who has no form. You are born with the rays of the dawn of knowledge.” Translated by RL Kashyap)
This is a profound and poetically gorgeous rik. Indra creates the rays of knowledge or ketu for one who had earlier no knowledge. He gives structure to the nebulous mind of the seeker.
Sayana says that being born with Usha shows Indra is equated with the Sun. If so, it is the Sun of the highest inner Light that is being born here as Indra. TV Kapali Sastry says that Indra is born with the inner Dawn of the seeker. Either way it indicates a great spiritual realization.
Notice the powerful anuprasa in padas 1 and 2. The high accents in the 2nd pada create the power of formation and creation by Indra. Ketu is also a graha who is worshipped and studied in Vedic Astrology

A Literary Approach to the Veda
Why a literary approach? Because it allows me complete freedom. It seems to me that at present there are two kinds of tyranny blocking the fullest or most open appreciation of the Veda.
The first is the western tendency or insistence to take the Veda as only external ritual. And to restrict it from the thousands of years of living traditions of interpretation and experience that it has meant for the Indigenous cultures
The second is the Indic insistence again to see it as karma kanda only. To be fair, this insistence is not universal nor as closed as the west. And the multiple meanings of the Veda can be unveiled, in my experience, more easily in India than in the west. For India is still in touch with its spirituality in many forms including the Upanishads which are a part of the Veda
Great teachers have valiantly tried in the last 150 years or so to bring out the multiple dimensions of the Veda. A literary approach allows me to consider all the various commentaries and interpretations of the Veda and to present them to the world and let the reader consider them independently and decide on their own. I am even allowed to present my own thoughts without any attempt to hide them. I have attempted the same with the Bhagavad Gita and found that a multidimensional approach to the Gita was critical to my own development. I find the same with the Veda

Despite being a globally acclaimed filmmaker, Satyajit Ray never made a film addressing the ethnic cleansing of Bengali Hindus in East Bengal. But, he focused only on orthodoxy within Hindu society in his films.
Yes, I am criticizing Satyajit Ray, because he is a humanist afterall. My grandfather had to leave East Bengal due to persecution by Muslims. Wasn't this something that deserved to be told to the world? Or have literature, novels, or films never been made about the persecution of other communities in other parts of the world?
But neither Mrinal Sen nor Ritwik Ghatak portrayed how, in the name of Islam, Bengali Hindus were driven away from the land of their ancestors that they lived for generations. They also did not depict how the ethnic cleansing was based on Islamic extremism and the hypocrisy of secular politician among Hindus.

Watched Hanuman Ansh yesterday. It reinstated my hope in Indian cinema. Honest storytelling. Stunning cinematography. Unapologetically spiritual. Deeply Indian. No superstar, yet the entire cast carry its weight with authenticity and grace. Kudos to writer-director Vishal Chaturvedi for the courage to tell a story rooted so deeply in our spiritual soil. I wept several times. The kind of years that come when one encounters something intensely true, good, or beautiful. Sometimes cinema leaves you quieter, fuller, and closer to yourself. Hanuman Ansh did that for me.
